These data are provided to you for use as denominators in calculating rates using EPICenter injury data. Although we use the official California population data from the Department of Finance (DOF), we are not the official source for this data. Any questions about California population data should be directed to the Demographic Research Unit of the DOF. To create these data files, we use the DOF files from their "Race/Ethnic Population with Age and Sex Details" data file download area. A suggested citation for this data, as provided by DOF, is listed below.

California Population Data

Select "California" or the county you are interested in.

Select the year(s) you are interested in.

To select a single year, simply use the same year in both boxes.

Select the age grouping you would like to look at.

EPIC age groups (<1, 1-4, 5-12, 13-15, 16-20 years old)
10-year age groups (0-9, 10-19, ... 80-89, 90+)
5-year age groups (0-4, 5-9, ..., 85-89, 90+)
Single year of age (0, 1, 2, 3, ... 89, 90+)
Custom age group: From through years old (Enter "0" for those <1 year old)
